2nd and 3rd June, 2007 – Weekend Course in Sea Kayaking in Loch Linnhe and Loch Creran

Saturday June 2nd

Day 1 – A start in Loch Linnhe in the Sound of Shuna was a little short lived as the conditions were worse than forecast and a bit beyond our skills so we headed a short way along the road to the more sheltered head of Loch Creran. Here we were taught a few methods of paddling and controling our kayaks as well as getting some practice for some at basic rescue techniques for an overboard kayaker. We had five (and a half) instances of cap sizes over the day much to our amusement and Tony’s astonishment at having beaten his previous group record of two.
