21st March, 2009 – Paddle down a stretch of the River Teith in Open Canoes

I joined a group paddling down the Teith in open canoes to give someone some extra practice at leading / coaching for his upcoming coaching assessment. This was my first time on the Teith and it is surprisingly clean and quiet given how close it is to a town and major road, it offers quite pleasant and easy paddling and was a nice change from the Tweed. Lots of laughs had a long the way as we tried to break in and out of flows and do different strokes we were mostly used to doing in a kayak and the final rapid which had been spoken about all day finally appeared and proved to be a big splash for us all, no capsizes but lots of water in the canoes.
