7th of July, 2010 – Evening Paddle Out to Fidra from North Berwick

A couple of hours paddling out from North Berwick, passing Lamb first then on to Fidra and round it without stopping. Hard work on the way out in force 3-4 winds (as forecast) but a bit of an assisted paddle back in. Great fun in the swell generated and caked in salt afterwards from all the spray.

I wondered if we were on the line of a weather front as the wind changed direction notably over the course of the two hours and there was a definite round area of cloud mass bordered by blue sky.

We approached North Berwick which was lit up by the setting sun behind us and headed for a pint and chips to finish off the evening.

Looking towards Fidra and beyond to Fife
