Mount Battock and Clachnaben

A long walk in via tracks eventually led to this view of Mount Battock.

Once up top, grey skies were replaced with sunshine and we sat awhile and enjoyed views to the west with Lochnagar and Mount Keen dominating.

Hares bounded about throughout our time up high and this is one of the boldest I’ve even seen, it must have been within five metres and was in no rush to retreat in to the burrow beside it.

Mucky weather was on its way from the west as we headed east…

… towards and over the most interesting ground of the day, the peak of Clachnaben…

… before passing some nice open woodland on our way back out.

A day that was a lucky break between bad weather with us making it back to the cars just in time before the clag and rain caught us up.
