Loch Lochy Hill(s): Take Two

A return to the hills above Loch Lochy after almost a year.   Last time avalanche conditions and events on the day put us off ascending Meall na Teanga and thankfully so.  This time skies started grey but soon brightened and views from up top were much better than they would have been on the previous trip.

A stunning sunset, witnessed across Scotland, was in the making when we were up top, but it was too cold to hang about for that and we had to do with the display over the hills on our way back to base just south of Fort William.

Next day, a little recce up to Glencoe’s ski centre for camping / bivvying potential. Still in two minds whether the night would be good enough to go for it, or just hold off for another time, I went up and had a look about for a site for a future night up high with good views.

The drive down was stunning and unusually Loch Tulla provided the best scenery rather than Loch na h-Achlaise and Black Mount, though only just.
